Carnaval de Nice: the 2024 edition, under the sign of Pop Culture!

les 8 conseils d’une naturopathe pour démarrer l’année du bon pied !

The 151st edition of the Carnaval de Nice will take place from February 17th to March 3rd, and for the occasion, the King of Pop Culture will be celebrated. It is one of the biggest carnivals in the world, along with Rio! Every year, thousands of visitors flock to the Côte d’Azur capital to attend this colourful event, eagerly awaited by the population in Nice. King, Queen, Carnavallon… the program is already shaping up to be a festive one, lasting nearly 3 weeks.

The highlight of the event is the illuminated carnival parade, which takes place on and around Place Masséna on Saturday and Tuesday evenings. For almost 1h30, a genuine sound and light show will light up the eyes of the crowd. In addition to the opening parade on Saturday, February 17th at 2:30 p.m. and the parade on Sunday, February 25th at 2:30 p.m., the carnival will also feature its traditional flower battles on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. Floats decorated with thousands of colourful flowers will parade. Spectators will admire the creations and catch the flowers thrown from the floats by the carnival queen and costumed actresses.

Another carnival highlight is Lou Queernaval, France’s first gay carnival. Now firmly rooted in Nice’s tradition of carnival festivities, it promotes the values of sharing and love.

Located on the Promenade des Anglais, just a few minutes’ walk from the Place Masséna, the 4* West End Hotel is the ideal base from which to enjoy your stay in Nice and its magnificent carnival.
