Laura and Sabrina, reservation agents for 3A Hôtels La Collection
Every month, Hotel West End**** puts the spotlight on its employees by asking a few questions to better understand their jobs and what motivates them. Today, the hotel introduces you to Laura and Sabrina, respectively First Reservationist and Reservation Agent with the 3A Hôtels La Collection group.
Can you introduce yourself?
Laura: “I’m 30 years old, I’m the mother of a little boy and I’ve been Première de réservation for almost 7 years. I started my career in the restaurant business, but had to change for personal reasons. So I switched to the hotel business and joined the reservations department of 3A Hôtels La Collection. My job is to optimize customer reservations and ensure that everything is in order and operational before their arrival. My role is to sell the product best suited to the customer’s needs, not just a price.”
Sabrina: “I’m 28, from Italy, and I’m also the mother of a little girl. I arrived in France 10 years ago. Until 2022, I worked mainly in the reception area, and then 2 years ago I switched to reservations, to keep the link with tourism and contact with the public. My role is to make individual reservations for our 3 hotels in Nice, but also for small groups”.
What do you love most about your job?
Laura: “What I like most of all is the fact that customers are happy to come and stay in our establishments. Our aim is to ensure that everything runs smoothly before the customer arrives.”
Sabrina: “What I like is the contact with customers and the fact of working in beautiful hotels. My job is exciting because I also have the challenge of finding the best rates for customers and building up their loyalty”.
What advice would you give to a new employee?
Laura: “First and foremost, it’s important to know your product and, above all, the tools you’ll be working with. It’s important to keep an eye on everything and spend time in the establishment to get to know the place.”
Sabrina: “Enjoy contact with the public and be patient! And, of course, you have to be passionate about the hotel business… otherwise there’s no point in choosing this profession”.
What’s your favorite place at the Hôtel West End?
Laura: “I love the West End Hotel, with its Belle Époque style and location on the Promenade des Anglais. It’s perfect for couples looking for a break. I love the Siècle terrace because you can eat or have a drink while admiring the beautiful view.”
Sabrina: “I love the Belle Époque feel of the West End hotel and its mix of old and new. It’s got a great history! It was the first hotel to be built on the Promenade des Anglais. I really like the reception area, which is very beautiful, with its majestic staircase.”
What are your fondest memories of the hotel?
Laura: “We’re a family! A good atmosphere is the most important thing and the key to everything. We have lots of memories together.”
Sabrina: “There’s a great atmosphere in the team, and the guests are nice too! Every day is different and we create great memories together.”
What advice would you give customers to make the most of their stay?
Laura: “For me, Chateau Hill is a must-see in Nice, because it’s the most beautiful spot! I’d also advise them to take their time. We spend our days running around, so taking time on vacation is important!”
Sabrina: “I invite customers to visit the area around Nice – the train station is not far away – such as Juan les Pins, Cannes, Antibes and even Saint-Tropez. In Nice, it’s good to discover the different types of cuisine, because there’s no shortage of choice”
