Each month, the West End**** Hotel is delighted to highlight one of its employees through a series of questions, in order to find out more about their profession and what drives them within the framework of its functions. Today, the hotel honored Patrick Tziack, technical manager of the West End Hotel.

Can you introduce yourself ?
I am 55 years old, and I have been a technical manager at the West End hotel for 2 years. I supervise a team of 2 painters and 3 technicians. I was a refrigeration engineer at the start of my career, and I have been working in the hotel industry for 15 years as a technical manager. My role consists of guaranteeing the operation of the installations and carrying out work (plumbing, painting, electricity) as well as emergency or preventive repairs.

What excites you most about your job?
It’s a tiring job but what I like most is the diversity of tasks and missions! No day is the same when you are a technical manager in a hotel like this! I am a man in the shadows and a man in the field… I have to be able to respond to all technical issues.

What advice would you give to a new employee?
It’s a job that requires perseverance and a jack-of-all-trades. As a technical manager, you are a bit of a MacGyver! The idea is to be as responsive as possible even if certain problems cannot be resolved immediately and require a little more time.

What is your favorite place within the West End Hotel?
I really like the Siècle restaurant, adjoining the West End hotel. The decor, the atmosphere… it’s a place where I feel good. Everyone there is very nice too! And the view from the restaurant is second to none.

What are your best memories?
End of year meals are very good memories because it is an opportunity to come together as a team to share friendly and warm moments.

Finally, what advice would you give to guests to enjoy their stay?
Take height ! Mont Boron or the Nice Côte d’Azur Observatory offer magnificent views of Nice and the Mediterranean Sea. Unmissable stops when you come to stay here!
