Summer 2024 : the most importants festivals in Nice
When summer arrives, festivals and festive events are everywhere in France! Nice is no exception. A popular destination for its picture-postcard landscapes and radiant sunshine, the French Riviera is also a cultural destination that attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world every year. This summer of 2024, Nice is hosting a varied program of events: music, cinema, theater… there’s something for everyone. Here’s a selection of festivals and events not to be missed during your stay at the West End hotel, a member of 3A Hôtels La Collection
Open-air cinema
Throughout the summer, the Cinémathèque de Nice offers open-air cinema sessions open to all, where you can watch the great classics of the 7th Art on a giant screen. On the program: Breaking Away, Fanfan la Tulipe, The Three Musketeers, Didier, Ghost Dog… and many more! Sessions take place every Wednesday throughout the summer at 9.30pm, Quai de la Douane / Port de Nice (except July 17 and August 14). Free access for all!
Nice Classic Live
From July 18 to August 11, 2024, the Nice Classic Festival returns for its 7th edition in the wonderful setting of the Cloister of the Monastère de Cimiez, as well as the Auditorium of the Musée Matisse. For almost a month, concerts of classical, jazz and contemporary music will take place in these historic venues. This year’s program focuses on female composers and music in film. A must-see!
Nice Jazz Festival
Another not-to-be-missed event, the Nice Jazz Fest – formerly the Nice Jazz Festival – takes place from August 20 to 23 on the Place Masséna and the Théâtre de Verdure. The program includes some 24 concerts and 2 stages. The line-up includes the following artists Nas, Thee Sacred Souls, Omah Lay, Jungle, Stella Cole, Phoenix, Yamê and Leon Phal. An opportunity to vibrate to the sounds of jazz, soul and afro music.
Les Contes d’apéro
From July 8 to August 4, 2024, join us at the TNN kiosk on the Promenade du Paillon for Contes d’apéro, every evening at 7pm. For 4 weeks, the Théâtre National de Nice offers readings and storytelling performances hosted by TNN director Muriel Mayette-Holtz, or by professional and apprentice actors. These storytelling aperitifs are free and open to all!
Laughter beaches
Finally, for a good laugh, join us at the Les Plages du Rire comedy festival from July 29 to 31 at the Théâtre de Verdure. For 3 days, 3 comedians will be performing: Anne Roumanoff, Les Chevaliers du Fiel and Mathieu Madenian.
Just a few minutes’ walk from downtown Nice, the West End hotel is ideally located on the Promenade des Anglais. The ideal starting point for discovering all the events and festivals.
